Ladies and gents! Do you get horribly embarrassed about the noises you make when you go to the bathroom? Well, apart from therapy, may we also recommend the new ‘Fake Shower’ app from Akatu.

Yes, the days of turning on the shower – or a bathroom sink tap – to disguise your toilet noises are over, thanks to this handy app which (in its makers’ words) doesn’t just “allow keeping privacy between couples” but also saves “clean, treated, expensive and scarce water”.

Whether you just started dating someone or are hanging out a friend’s, you’re generally going to prefer that they not hear the symphony of sounds you’re making in the bathroom. Sure, you can turn the shower on as a ruse—but our planet is strained enough as is. Fortunately for both you and Mother Earth, Akatu is here to help.

What does it do?
Akatu is a simple app that performs a very necessary task. Once you tap open the app, you can choose from tap or shower sounds, depending on how, er… loud nature might be calling. You can even go on to adjust the “water flow,” meaning you can perfectly match your sound levels.

Why do we like it?
Sure, ideally you’re at a place in your relationships where you don’t NEED to cover up nature’s bounty, but let’s be realistic. Bodily functions are embarrassing, and one way or another, you’re going to try to mask them as best you can. We might as well save water while we’re saving face, so with Akatu, everyone wins. It even tells you just how much water you saved at the end of your shadooby session.

All you need to do is download the free app from the iTunes App Store, choose between tap or shower setting – and increase or decrease the ‘water flow’ as you require – and ta-dah! Both your face and the planet are saved.

You can even “earn badges for your achievements both individual and collective” and “share your achievements on social media”. We can’t wait!

Akatu, you’re so right. Love may be blind… but it’s not deaf
